When You Miss Me
by Sandeep Vhandari
One day you’ll miss me — I swear you will,
When quiet hearts forget to thrill.
You’ll whisper my name in the darkened air,
But silence will answer — I won’t be there.
You’ll search for my laughter on drifting wind,
For my warmth where the rain begins.
But I’ll be a ghost in your yesterday,
A heartbeat lost, that slipped away.
When you miss me, I’ll be gone,
Far beyond where tears belong.
You’ll reach for light that’s turned to grey,
A memory that won’t decay.
I’m walking away with quiet pain,
Carrying words I can’t explain.
Every step’s a soft goodbye,
But I take it slow — and I don’t ask why.
You’ll find my scent on broken dreams,
My voice in the hush of midnight streams.
But no matter how hard you call for me,
I won’t be where I used to be.
And maybe someday, when time feels kind,
You’ll close your eyes — and I’ll cross your mind.
But don’t come looking — I’m far, far away,
A love once yours, now led astray.
So hold me now, before I fade,
Before my light turns into shade.
When you miss me, just know it’s true —
I once went crazy… loving you.
