Last night I sank in gentle sleep,
Where silent dreams ran calm and deep.
I thought the stars would guard my rest,
With tender light upon my chest. But morning came, and with it fear,
I woke to sounds I should not hear—
Machines that hummed, a steady tone,
That whispered softly: you’re not alone.Tapes were bound across my skin,
Each wire spoke of storms within.
An oxygen mask pressed on my face,
As if to hold me in its grace.I wondered then if death had come,
To beat the lifeless warning drum.
I felt the chill of shadows near,
The weight of silence sharp and clear.Yet as I lay in fragile state,
A thought broke through the hands of fate:
If life had left me, why this breath?
Why still a heartbeat holding death?Perhaps the dawn was not the end,
But just a curve, a hidden bend.
A secret road my soul must see,
A voice that whispered: live, be free. For every scar, a lesson grows,
Through darkest nights, the morning shows.
The body breaks, the spirit bends,
Yet still the soul will find its friends.I saw the faces by my side,
With tearful eyes they would not hide.
Their hands held mine, their voices prayed,
And in their love, my fear decayed. The doctor’s words, though sharp, though cold,
Were tales of battles still untold.
For though the sickness took its claim,
It could not steal my inner flame.I thought of days I’d yet to live,
The songs to sing, the love to give.
The skies1 to see, the roads to roam,
The strength to build a brighter home.I thought of nights where stars would glow,
Of rivers where the wild winds blow.
Of laughter shared in gentle rain,
Of rising strong from every pain.So even here, on bed so white,
I swore to stand, to choose the fight.
For though the dark may cage the heart,
It cannot tear the soul apart.I’ll breathe this air with grateful tone,
For every breath is not my own—
It’s gift and grace, it’s chance, it’s start,
A pulse of God within my heart. No mask, no wire, no heavy chain,
Can steal the hope that will remain.
No fleeting death, no whispered lie,
Can dim the fire that longs to try.mI rise in spirit, rise in song,
For though the road is steep and long,
The dawn has shown me, clear and true,
That every day is born anew.So if you wake in halls of pain,
Remember: sun will rise again.
The storm may shake, the night may fall,
But love and hope outshine it all.For death’s a driver, stern and fast,
But not the one who steers the last.
For life still holds the greater key,
It waits in you, it waits in me.So let me live, though bones may ache,
Each step I take, a vow I make.
To greet the day with lifted eyes,
To write my truth across the skies.Last night I slept in shadows deep,
But morning woke me—not to weep.
It woke me strong, it woke me wise,
To see the world through brighter eyes.So if you fall, and think you’re done,
Remember: night will meet the sun.
For every end is just disguise,
The dawn awaits, and hope will rise.
